Kanta Barrios

Kanta Barrios is our VP of Marketing and Content Development at Inner Splendor Media. She is also an experienced yoga instructor. Kanta has spent 12 years studying yoga and philosophy with her main teacher, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, in Siddha Yoga Meditation ashrams in India and the United States. Over the years, she has additionally studied with some of the world's leading yoga teachers: Sri Pattabhi Jois, Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea and John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, amongst others. This has given Kanta solid expertise in a wide range of yoga practices from many different schools.

This background, combined with her professional experiences in the world of film and global traveling, has made Kanta a sophisticated, graceful teacher committed to making yoga accessible to a wide range of students. Her students appreciate her down-to-earth and light approach and her ability to make the exploration and practice of yoga fun and relevant.

Tom Rossi

Tom Rossi is an accomplished composer, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose musical style is indeed a global mosaic, a border-dissolving symphony of tones and beats and harmonies from Africa and Asia and the Middle East, South America and the Caribbean and Brooklyn, USA. After returning from further expeditions to Ghana, Brazil, Cuba and Turkey, Rossi released his world music debut record, Salma Har, in 2005.

As the founder of Salma Har Productions, LLC, Rossi has produced and performed on several albums spanning the genres from rock to ambient. Rossi's travels around the globe have not only given him a broadmusical education, but a unique perspective on humanity as well.

V. K. Raman is one of the leading master flautists in the Carnatic style of music. Mysore V. Srikanth

Mysore V. Srikanth is an outstanding accompanist and virtuoso classical Indian violin soloist. Like his older brother V. K. Raman, Shrikanth plays with incredible sensitivity in the Carnatic style and has given concert tours throughout the world. As an accompanist, Srikanth has worked with the leading performers of Carnatic music, including R. K. Srikantan, Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and T. N. Seshagopalan. In addition, Srikanth has performed with great mridangam maestros such as Palghat R. Raghu and Dr. T. K. Murthy.

Gayatri Govindarajan

Kumari Gayatri Govindarajan started her training in the veena at the very tender age of seven under the guidance of Guru Smt. Bhagirathi Narayanaswamy. She has also had the privilege of undergoing advanced training for three years under the guidance of late Guru Smt. Mangalam Muthuswamy, a disciple of the Tanam expert Smt. 'Veena' Visalakshi, a direct disciple of Shatkala Chakravarthi Veena Venkatramana Das of Vijayanagaram and the world-renowned Smt. Dhanammal.

Govindarajan earned her seven-year certificate course in the veena from Shanmukananda Sangeetha Vidyalaya and received the 'Sangeetha Shanmukhamani" title for proficiency in the veena. She is also the recipient of the "SUR MANI" title for proficiency in the veena from the Sur Singar Samsad, an institution that protects, promotes and preserves Hindustani classical music and dance. Govindarajan has to her credit various scholarship awards from the Shanmukhananda school and has won many accolades from various organizations for her performance on the veena. She was a gold medalist at the zonal level at an inter-university youth festival meet held in Aurangabad, India in December 2006 and a silver medalist at the national level meet held in Chennai in January 2007. Both medals were in the category of classical instrumental music.

Besides the veena, Govindarajan is learning vocal music under the tutelage of Shri. N.S. Chandrasekara Bagavathar.

Vivek Ramchandra Sonar

Surmani Vivek Sonar is a talented young flautist from Chalisgaon, India, located in the Jalgaon district of northern Maharashtra. As a child he was surrounded by the musical influence of his father, the late Shri. Ramchandra Sonar, a follower of the Varkari Sampradaya (pilgrim tradition) Bhakti sect. Vivek studied music for seven years under the tutelage of Shri. Purushottam Antapurkar before becoming a senior disciple of the iconic Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at the age of 12. With Panditiji’s guidance, Vivek pursued his devotion of the flute, creating a powerful command over Tantakri and Laykari. In addition to being an artist of All India Radio, he has given solo performances at acclaimed music festivals in India, as well as performing in concerts of classical, fusion and jugalbandis (duets) with Sitar, violin, Santoor and Carnatic instruments. Vivek has also composed and performed background scores for documentaries.

Vivek is a recipient of the Sangeet Visharad with distinction from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mandal, the Vrindavan Gurukul Scholarship and the National Scholarship of India. He has been honored with Yuva Gaurav award and has been given the prestigious titles Sur Mani and Thane Gaurav. With a mission to popularize flute culture and help educate the masses about the flute, Vivek has created the Gurukul Academy for Performing Arts.
